Members of Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) seized Indian smuggled goods worth about Tk 2.5 crore in a drive in Sylhet.
The goods were seized during a drive in various border areas of the district in the early hours of Wednesday, said a press release of the BGB Sylhet Battalion.
The press release said that on a tip-off, a team of the joint forces conducted a drive in Pratappur, Noakot, Sangram, DB Haor BOP and Sreepur border areas of Jaintapur Upazila in the district, and seized the smuggled goods.
During the drive, the team seized a large quantity of Indian lehenga, Skinshine cream, Gomela cream, Clopgi cream, Nivea soft cream, Veet hair removal cream, sunglasses, cumin, sugar, fuchka, betel nut, three pieces, frog, children's angel, lungi, veil, buffalo, chocolate, soap, eyeball candy, basmati rice, biscuits and liquor.
The market value of the seized goods is Tk 2,55,69,595.
