A new political platform, United Peoples Bangladesh (UP Bangladesh), has officially been launched, with Ali Ahsan Junaed appointed as its Convenor.
The launch event took place on Friday, May 9, shortly after 4:30 PM at the Central Shaheed Minar in Dhaka. The father of Shaheed Wasim, a martyr of the July Movement, was present at the event, adding emotional resonance to the platform’s public debut.
The platform announced its initial leadership structure during the event. Arefin Mohammad Hizbullah has been named Member Secretary, while Rafe Salman Rifat will serve as Chief Coordinator. Naim Ahmed has been appointed as Chief Organizer, and Shahrin Sultana Ira will act as the platform’s official Spokesperson.
Leaders of UP Bangladesh also announced a central committee comprising 82 members, signaling their intention to establish a broad-based organizational foundation.
The platform’s emergence comes at a time of heightened political discourse in the country, and its leaders have positioned it as a fresh voice in national politics.
