Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan made a jaw-dropping debut at the 2025 Met Gala earlier this week, turning heads with a regal black ensemble by designer Sabyasachi Mukherjee. Styled with bold, chunky jewelry, his look embodied his signature “King” aura on the iconic blue carpet.
Following his much-talked-about appearance, an old video of Khan has gone viral, in which he candidly shares why he never pursued a Hollywood career. In the clip, the actor humorously remarks, “I’m 42, a bit brown, and I don’t have any particular uniqueness... I don’t know Kung Fu, I don’t do Latin salsa, and I’m not tall enough.”
He went on to say he didn’t feel he had a “selling point” for Western cinema and instead focused on championing Indian films globally. “I prefer to focus on my work in India and aim to take Indian cinema to the world,” he said.
Reflecting on his Met Gala debut, Khan thanked Sabyasachi on social media: “It’s not my 'space,' but you made me feel so comfortable. Like you, I believe style and fashion are all about being who you are, and you made me feel like a 'K'!”
On the work front, Shah Rukh Khan is gearing up for his upcoming film King, which reportedly features his daughter Suhana Khan and Abhishek Bachchan as the antagonist.
