The Bangladesh Meteorological Department (BMD) has reported that a mild to moderate heat wave is currently sweeping across several regions of the country and is expected to persist over the next five days.
According to a bulletin issued Friday morning, the heat wave is affecting Dhaka, Rajshahi, and Khulna divisions, as well as districts including Rangpur, Dinajpur, Nilphamari, Rajarhat, Mymensingh, Moulvibazar, Rangamati, Chandpur, Feni, Noakhali, Chattogram, Bandarban, Barishal, and Patuakhali.
Weather is expected to remain mostly dry with partly cloudy skies. Day temperatures may rise by 1–2°C, and night temperatures are also likely to increase slightly.
The highest temperature recorded on Thursday was 39.7°C in Chuadanga, while the lowest was 22.5°C in Dimla, Rangpur.
