Police have arrested one of the two female students named in the murder case of Zahidul Islam Parvez, a student of Primeasia University.
The arrested female student is Faria Haque Tina, a student in English department at University of Scholars.
Banani Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Md. Rasel Sarwar confirmed the arrest and said that Faria Haque Tina was apprehended from Bashundhara residential area in the capital.
Earlier, on April 23, prime accused, Mehraj, was arrested from Gaibandha in connection with the murder of Parvez. Another suspect, Hridoy Miazi, was arrested on April 21 by RAB from Monairkandi village under Titas Upazila of Cumilla.
Additionally, two other accused, Mahathir Hasan and Md Al Kamal Sheikh, have also been arrested and have given confessional statements in court. They are currently in jail.
Two more individuals, Alvi Hossain Zunaed and Al Amin Sani, have also been arrested in the case. After completing their remand, they are now in jail as well.
Now, Faria Haque Tina has been arrested, bringing the total number of arrests in the case to seven.
Earlier, on April 23, the court had ordered authorities to locate the two female students in connection with Zahidul Islam Parvez’s murder.
