Court sends Ivy to jail in murder case

Dr. Selina Hayat Ivy, former mayor of Narayanganj City Corporation (NCC) and senior vice-president of district unit Awami League, has been sent to jail following a hearing in Minarul murder case at Siddhirganj in Narayanganj district.

On Friday, Narayanganj’s Senior Judicial Magistrate Mainuddin Kader issued the order.
According to Narayanganj court police inspector Md. Kaiyum Khan, former mayor Ivy was produced before court in connection with Minarul murder case. After the hearing, the court ordered that she be sent to jail. The next hearing in the case is scheduled for May 26.

Around 3 AM on Friday, police arrested Ivy from ‘Chunka Kutir’ located at Deobhog area of the city.
