PABNA, May 8: Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) conducted raids in Bangladesh Road Transport Authority (BRTA) offices in different districts across the country on Wednesday.
As part of this, BRTA-Pabna and the ACC jointly conducted a raid. At that time, ACC-Pabna Assistant Director Sadhan Chandra Sutradhar said, according to information from various sources and information from the beneficiaries during the campaign, the office has become a paradise for irregularities and corruption. "For any kind of service, you have to pay money, and there is harassment for months," he added.
He further said, no work is done here without a broker. You have to pay up to Tk 10,000-12,000 to get service, he said. There are also complaints, service seekers who submitted documents in 2019, are yet to get licences.
Victims said, basically, no work is done without brokers and money. All kinds of services including licences are available only after paying money.
There is an ACC case against Assistant Director Alab Hossain. There is a case in the name of his family members.
The matter will be considered seriously, the ACC official added.
