49 more dengue cases reported in 24hrs

49 more dengue patients were hospitalized across the country in the 24 hours till Monday morning.

With the new cases, the total number of cases rose to 2,756 this year. As no death was reported during the period, the number of total fatalities remained at 20.

"During the period, 17 patients were hospitalised in Barishal division, 18 in Chattogram, three in Dhaka division, five in Dhaka North, two in Dhaka South,
one in each Mymensingh and Sylhet division, and two were admitted to different hospitals in Khulna division," said a press release issued by the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS).

Last year, dengue claimed the lives of 575 people.

According to the DGHS, there were 101,214 dengue cases and 100,040 recoveries in 2024.
