A Dhaka court on Sunday ordered the freezing of €411,541 (approximately Tk 56.66 crore) in foreign investments held in Luxemburg under the names of Summit Group Chairman Muhammed Aziz Khan and his family members.

Dhaka Metropolitan Senior Special Judge M Zakir Hossain Galib issued the order following a petition by Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) Deputy Director Md. Alomgir Hossain.

According to the ACC, the assets were traced during an ongoing investigation into allegations of bribery, corruption, and illicit enrichment involving Summit Group and its associates. The commission argued that freezing the assets was essential to ensure the integrity of the investigation.

The court on March 9 ordered the freezing of 191 bank accounts belonging to the group, containing approximately Tk 41.75 crore.

On March 11, it ordered the seizure of 54 kathas of land, which was allegedly undervalued in official documents.
