Jatiya Nagorik Party (NCP) announced formation of Northern Region oversight teams, appointing Sarjis Alam as its Chief Organiser with two deputies to supervise nine distinct geographical zones.
According to official memo released on Sunday, Sarjis Alam will oversee entire Northern Region operations whilst Deputy Saifullah Haidar manages eastern territories including Dhaka North, Gazipur, Narsingdi, Sylhet and Mymensingh regions. Second Deputy Adv. Ali Naser Khan takes responsibility for western zones covering Rajshahi, Bogura, Rangpur and Dinajpur regions.
Mostaq Ahmed Shishir assumes position of Regional Overseer for Dhaka Metropolitan North, supported by organising team comprising Farhad Sohel, M M Shoaib and Abdullah Al Monsur. They must coordinate with 14 central committee members to submit committee proposal within 30-day timeframe.
Gazipur Region, covering Gazipur, Tangail and North Dhaka District, falls under Major (Retd.) Abdullah Al Mahmud's oversight with four-member organising committee including Adv. Ali Naser Khan who serves dual role as western territories deputy.
Narsingdi Region encompasses Narsingdi, Manikganj and Kishoreganj districts with Adv. Shirin Akhtar Shelly appointed Regional Overseer, commanding nine local representatives across territory.
Dr. Atik Mujahid heads Rangpur Region with jurisdiction over Rangpur, Kurigram, Lalmonirhat and Gaibandha districts, managing team of seven representatives. Meanwhile, Md. Abu Sayed Liyan oversees neighbouring Dinajpur Region covering Dinajpur, Thakurgaon, Panchagarh and Nilphamari districts with four-member team.
Rajshahi Region, comprising Rajshahi, Chapainawabganj, Natore and Naogaon, operates under Imran Iman's leadership with six representatives, whilst adjacent Bogura Region (Bogura, Sirajganj, Pabna, Joypurhat) functions under Sakib Mahadi with six-member team including notable organiser Dyuti Aranya Chowdhury.
NCP's northeastern outreach extends through Mymensingh Region under Rafiqul Islam Aini, encompassing Mymensingh, Netrokona, Jamalpur and Sherpur with substantial 13-member representation team. Sylhet Region rounds out territorial coverage under Pritom Dash's leadership with Nahid Uddin Tarek serving as organiser across Sylhet, Sunamganj, Moulvibazar and Habiganj districts.
Altogether, newly established regional oversight structure deploys 75 local representatives across northern Bangladesh, marking significant organisational expansion for NCP as it strengthens territorial presence.
All regional teams must submit committee proposals within 30 days, suggesting imminent formalisation of permanent leadership structures across northern territories.
