Bangladesh allrounder Mehidy Hasan Miraz revealed that they were able to keep their words to play as a team, a thing that gave them the success in the second and final cricket Test against Zimbabwe.
Miraz led the charge with incredible allround performance to script Bangladesh's innings and 106 runs win that also helped them level the two match series following a shock three-wicket defeat in the first Test in Sylhet.
In the process, he reached several milestones to savour. He hit 104 runs and took a five-for, making him third Bangladesh player after Shakib Al Hasan and Sohag Gazi and overall 39th cricketer in the world cricket to achieve the landmark. Shakib achieved this feat twice.
During the course of 104 runs, which was his second Test ton, he became the sixth fastest to reach the 2000 runs and 200 wickets club. He was the second Bangladeshi player to enter this club after Shakib Al Hasan.
Miraz also took 10-wicket in Bangladesh's three-wicket defeat in the first Test. He overall grabbed 15 wickets and scored 116 runs in two-match Test series and rightly was adjudged man of the series and man of the match.
"I am feeling good. We lost the first match, we had to win this match," Miraz said.
"The boys were excited (for this match), the commitment...We played as a team." Despite winning the game almost single-handedly, Miraz credited his teammates for his success.
"Credit goes to the bowlers. Taijul supported me. Tanzim and Hasan Mahmud showed their character and they gave us an opportunity for getting a century," he remarked.
"I have also played for so many years. We have a lot of senior players. We have good seniors in the team and they keep supporting, on how to play these conditions," he said, adding that Bangladesh are always a good team when they play as a team.
"We have lots of experience. If we play together, we are definitely a very good team," the Bangladeshi allrounder said.
