Jatiya Nagorik Party (NCP) established preparation committee for new 'Diploma Engineers Wing' aimed at harnessing technical expertise for nationwide reconstruction efforts following recent political transformation.
Committee of 35 qualified engineers will operate under independent constitution while maintaining NCP oversight, Chief Coordinator Nasir Uddin Patwari confirmed on Wednesday.
Wing coordinated by Sheikh Md. Shah Moin Uddin represents "strategic step" towards involving technically skilled professionals in development policy planning aligned with principles of July Movement.
"Our mission centres on making structured contributions across all sectors of technical education and employment," remarked NCP, highlighting plans to set consistent targets for diploma engineering institutions, technical colleges, vocational schools and BM colleges nationwide.
Joint coordinators Md. Sheikh Jamal Abir and Md. Salauddin will support leadership efforts alongside 32 committee members representing diverse engineering backgrounds.
Notably, committee includes three women engineers, Tarannum Binte Zakir, Mahanaz Alam (Hafsa) and Ayesha Siddika, signalling commitment to gender inclusivity within technical rebuilding initiatives.
Formation comes amid broader push for professional expertise in government planning, with technical education specialists expected to play crucial role in infrastructure development strategies.
NCP emphasised importance of technical education reform, stating wing would advocate for "meaningful restructuring" of engineering curriculum to meet changing national requirements.
Initiative reflects growing trend of professional bodies aligning with political movements following July Uprising, which observers describe as watershed moment in national governance approach toward technical expertise.
