5 arrested over DU bus attack

Police have arrested five individuals in connection with the attack on Dhaka University's 'Khonika' bus carrying students at Azampur in Uttara.

The arrest was made early Wednesday (April 30), according to Associate Professor Saifuddin Ahmed, Proctor.
He said, "Law enforcement conducted raid at an early hours and arrested five individuals involved in the bus attack. Efforts continue to apprehend the remaining attackers."

Tuesday's incident occurred

Around 1:15PM on Tuesday, the bus traveling Tongi-Gazipur route was ambushed in Azampur area. At least 10 people, including the driver, were injured as the attackers assaulted them.

Three students sustained serious wounds.

Vice Chancellor Professor Niaz Ahmed Khan and the Proctor immediately visited spot following the attack. DU administration demanded swift police action to identify and arrest all perpetrators involved in the incident.
