A school teacher tragically died after falling from the rooftop of his house at Gafargaon upazila in Mymensingh district.
The incident occurred on Wednesday morning at Kajol Villa of Imam Bari under Gafargaon municipality.
The dead, SM Mosharraf Hossain Masud, 40, was a physical education teacher at local Porabaria Abdul Gani Dakhil Madrasa.
According to locals, the teacher went up to the roof of the 3rd floor in the morning. Suddenly, he fell from the roof onto the road below. Hearing a loud thud, family members rushed to the scene and found him critically injured.
He was immediately taken to the upazila health complex. As his condition worsened, he was being transferred to Mymensingh Medical College Hospital but he succumbed to his injuries on the way.
His brother, Sabuj, said, "We were asleep at that time. We woke up after hearing the noise and rushed to rescue him. We still don’t understand how it happened or what led to the fall. He died while being taken to the medical college hospital."
