A hotel employee died after touching an electrified gate caused by a snapped wire at Parara Road in Barishal city.

The incident occurred around 11 AM on Tuesday afternoon.

The deceased was identified as Sujon, 15, worked at Momin Hotel on Parara Road.

According to locals, Sujon was leaving his rented house after taking a bath to join work at the hotel.

However, a snapped wire had fallen on the house gate earlier, electrifying it. As soon as he tried to open the gate, he was electrocuted and fell down.

Later, locals rescued and took him to Barishal Sher-e-Bangla Medical College Hospital where the on-duty doctors declared him dead.

Confirming the matter, Kotwali Model Police Station officer-in-charge Mizanur Rahman said that police will investigate the matter and take legal action accordingly.
