Former domestic worker Pinky Akter accuse film actress Pori Moni of physical and mental abuses after consuming narcotics.

On Tuesday, she said these at a press conference held at Dhaka University Journalists' Association (DUJA).
According to Pinky, the actress questioned why her child was being fed milk despite this being part of regular feeding schedule, then proceeded to strike her repeatedly on the head, face and eyes until she lost consciousness. After regaining consciousness, Pinky called emergency services and departed the premises with police assistance.

She began her employment at Pori Moni's residence in March 2024 through "Kader Agency". Though initially contracted to care for one child, she claims she was ultimately responsible for two children whilst also being required to cook at all hours.

Calling for authorities to review CCTV footage from the incident, Pinky urged policymakers and law enforcement to ensure other domestic workers do not endure similar mistreatment.

On April 3, she lodged a written complaint with Vatara Police Station, followed by a formal lawsuit filed on Tuesday in Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Nazmin Akter's court. The case names both Pori Moni and 28-year-old Sourav, a resident of the same apartment, as accused parties.

Pinky's lawyer, Advocate Nasidus Zaman Nishan, confirmed that the court has recorded her statement and directed the Police Bureau of Investigation to submit an investigative report by May 8.
