Actor Siddiqur Rahman Siddiq was physically assaulted by a group of people, including several members of Jatiyatabadi Chhatra Dal (JCD), in Dhaka’s Kakrail area on Tuesday afternoon before being handed over to police.

The incident occurred around 4 PM and was captured in multiple videos circulating widely on social media.

Siddiq, who is reportedly named in a case related to July-August killings, was seen in the footage being dragged, beaten, and chanted against as he was marched to a nearby police station.
Once inside the station compound, police personnel intervened and took him into custody. Some of the attackers accused Siddiq of being an "agent of Awami League" and shouted political slogans during the handover.

One individual in the video was narrating the event, stating, “We are handing over Siddiq, a stooge of Awami League, to the police.”

Siddiqur Rahman, originally from Madhupur in Tangail, has been active in the entertainment industry for over two decades. He has also been involved in Awami League politics and previously sought party nominations to contest in Dhaka-17 and Tangail-1 constituencies, although unsuccessfully.
