Mixed trends at DSE, CSE on Tuesday morning

On Tuesday (April 29), the third working day of the week, trading at the country's two main stock exchanges—Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE) and Chittagong Stock Exchange (CSE)—has shown mixed trends.

According to sources from the DSE and CSE, the DSEX, the benchmark index of DSE, dropped by 1 point to settle at 4,951 points at 10:30 AM, half an hour into trading. The Shariah Index (DSES) rose by 2 points to 1,099, while the DS30 Index dropped 1 point to 1,830. By this time, shares and mutual fund units worth BDT 47.57 crore had been traded.
As of 10:30 AM, share prices of 150 companies had advanced, 125 had declined, and 75 remained unchanged on the DSE.

The top 10 most traded companies at that time were: Beach Hatchery, Alif Industries, United Finance, Shahjibazar Power, Eastern Lubricants, Khan Brothers, BRAC Bank, Bangladesh Shipping Corporation (BSC), Kashem Industries, and Intraco.

Earlier in the day, within the first 5 minutes of trading, the DSEX dropped 5 points. By 10:10 AM, the index slid another 5 points. The downward trend continued, and by 10:20 AM, the index stood at 4,937 points, down by 15 points from the previous day.

On the other hand, at 10:30 AM, the CASPI index of CSE declined by 26 points to 13,819. However, the index began to move upward afterward.

By that time, shares and mutual fund units worth BDT 82 lakh had been traded on the CSE. Prices of 14 companies increased, 20 declined, and 7 remained unchanged.
