Missing teenager's body found in Jashore pond

Missing teenager’s body found in Bhatpara area of Ramnagar union in Jashore Sadar upazila on Monday.

Police recovered his body around 2:00 PM from a pond near his home.
The deceased identified asTanvir Hasan Nishan, 14, a 9th-grade student at Bhatpara Alia Madrasa.
According to locals, Nishan left home around 7:00 PM on Sunday, saying he was going to a nearby shop but did not return home afterwards.

Later that night, his family started searching him here and there but could not found. His mobile phone was also switched off at the time.

His family claimed that an unidentified person called them using Nishan's mobile number around 10:30 PM that night, demanding a ransom of TK five thousand.

Following this incident, a general diary (GD) was lodged at Kotwali Model Police Station.

On Monday afternoon, while working near a pond close to their house, a local person felt something under their feet.

Upon further search, Nishan's body was recovered under a pile in the pond.
It was also noticed his hands and feet were tied with his lungi and his body was weighed down with stones.

Upon receiving the information, police from Kotwali Model Police Station arrived at the scene, recovered the body, and sent it to the Jashore General Hospital morgue for an autopsy.

Confirming the matter, Kotwali Model Police Station officer-in-charge Abul Hasnat said that the matter has been taken seriously and we are investigating to uncover the real facts behind the incident.
