A CNG driver killed, and three others injured in a crash with a truck in Cox's Bazar’s Ramu upazila on Monday.
The accident occurred around 8:00 AM at Panirchhara area of Rashidnagar union on Chittagong-Cox's Bazar highway in the upazila.
The deceased was identified as Jahidul Islam, son of Monsur Alam, a resident of Sowdagar Para in Bharuakhali union of Cox's Bazar Sadar upazila.
According to locals, a truck heading towards Cox's Bazar rammed into a CNG in front. As a result, both vehicles overturned and were severely damaged in a roadside ditch.
Four people, including the CNG driver, were injured in the accident. Later, locals rescued and took them to Ramu Upazila Health Complex where on-duty doctors declared Jahidul dead.
Confirming the matter, Ramu Crossing Highway Police Inspector Md Nasir Uddin said that the injured are under treatment at Ramu Upazila Health Complex.
The deceased's body kept at the hospital morgue for an autopsy, added the inspector.
