Professor Mia Golam Parwar, Secretary General of Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami, has reaffirmed his party’s commitment to transforming Bangladesh into a welfare state by ensuring political stability and fostering economic sustainability.
Speaking as the chief guest at a public event held at Independence Square in Fultala upazila on Sunday night, Professor Parwar emphasized Jamaat’s mission to nurture honest, capable, and skilled individuals across all sectors of society. He encouraged citizens to join Jamaat-e-Islami in the pursuit of peace, justice, and discipline in the country.
The gathering was organized by the Fultala Upazila unit as part of Jamaat-e-Islami’s nationwide Public Contact Campaign-2025, which aims to recruit associate members and strengthen grassroots engagement.
A former Member of Parliament, Professor Parwar alleged that certain groups are conspiring to bring Sheikh Hasina back into politics under the guise of protecting her. "The people of Bangladesh will resist these conspiracies at any cost, Insha'Allah," he declared.
He also referenced the July Uprising, claiming it had led to a "new independence" won through the sacrifices of thousands of students and citizens. Given the people’s expectations, he urged the interim government to implement necessary reforms and ensure a free, fair, and meaningful national election.
Calling for national unity beyond political affiliations, Professor Parwar said Jamaat-e-Islami stands ready to support efforts to end communal violence and restore order in the country.
The event was presided over by Fultala Upazila Jamaat Ameer Professor Abdul Alim Molla. Among the key speakers were Central Majlis-e-Shura member and Khulna District Ameer Maulana Emran Hussain, District Secretary Munshi Mizanur Rahman, Assistant Secretary Professor Mia Golam Quddus, Principal Gausul Azam Hadi, District Working Committee member Master Sheikh Sirajul Islam, and Youth Division President Professor Golam Mostafa Al Mujahid.
Earlier in the day, Professor Parwar also addressed a women’s gathering hosted by the Khanjahan Ali Thana unit of Jamaat-e-Islami at the Khanjahan Ali College auditorium, where he delivered similar messages of political reform and national unity.
