Brick kiln fined TK 2 Lakh in Jhalakathi

A mobile court fined a brick kiln TK 2 lakh in a drive conducted by the upazila administration at Nalchiti upazila in Jhalakathi district on Monday.

The mobile court was conducted by Upazila Nirbahi Officer (UNO) Md Nazrul Islam.

The mobile court sentenced Korir Hossain Jomaddar, the owner of Shukhtara Bricks located in Subidpur union of Nalchiti Upazila, to a fine of TK two lakh, or in default, one month of simple imprisonment.

This penalty was imposed under the Brick Manufacturing and Kiln Establishment (Control) Act, 2013, for burning wood in the brick kiln, in accordance with the Mobile Court Act 2009.
