A Dhaka court has extended the deadline to submit the arrest report on former Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, her sister Sheikh Rehana, Rehana's children Radwan Mujib Siddiq and Tulip Rizwana Siddiq, and 18 others until May 12.
The cases involve allegations of abuse of power and illegal allotment of 30 kathas of land from Rajuk's Purbachal New Town Project. The Metropolitan Senior Special Judge Zakir Hossain Galib set the new date after police failed to submit the report on Sunday.
Arrest warrants were earlier issued on April 13 after the accused were found absconding.
Three separate cases have been filed, with Sheikh Rehana, Radwan Mujib Siddiq, and Azmira Siddiq named as prime accused in each. Sheikh Hasina and Tulip Siddiq have been implicated as co-accused in all the cases.
The Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) filed the cases on January 13, accusing the defendants of securing plots through misuse of power. Charge sheets were submitted on March 10, adding more individuals based on investigation findings.
Previously, arrest warrants were also issued against Hasina, her daughter Saima Wazed Putul, and son Sajeeb Wazed Joy in related corruption cases involving Rajuk land plots.
