Man crushed under train in Pabna

PABNA, Apr 27: An elderly man was crushed under a train in Chatmohar Upazila of the district on Sunday.

The accident took place in Jagtala Village of the upazila at around 8:30 am.

The deceased was identified as Sagir Pramanik, 70, son late Khorjan Pramanik, a resident of Jagtala Purbapara Village under Mulgram Union in the upazila.

Local sources said that Sagir had been ill from both physically and mentally. He used to walk beside the railway track every day. On Sunday morning, the Dhaka-bound Banalata Express train hit him in the area, which left him dead on the spot.

Member of Ward No-9 under Mulgram Union Parishad Farhad Hossain Manik confirmed the incident.
