Dear Sir,
Kuakata, the place where the sea, sunrise, sunset, and natural beauty converge in perfect harmony, attracts thousands of tourists every year seeking the pure touch of nature. However, in recent times, a silent disaster named "geo bags" has cast a shadow over the beauty of this beach. These sand-filled bags, installed to prevent erosion, are now, due to a lack of maintenance, becoming sources of accidents. The effort to preserve the beauty has unfortunately turned into a trap of danger for tourists. Slippery algae have accumulated on the surface of the geo bags.
Many visitors, especially the elderly and children, are slipping and falling while walking on the beach or watching the sunset. After the installation of the geo bags, no necessary measures for monitoring or maintenance were taken. There are no warning signs, nor any system in place to clean the slippery surfaces. As a result, these geo bags have become a threat to public safety. Moreover, it's not only causing physical harm to tourists but is also impacting Kuakata's entire tourism sector. If proper planning, regular maintenance, and safety measures are not urgently ensured, Kuakata's dream of thriving tourism might turn into a nightmare. Simply placing the geo bags is not enough; supervision, preservation, and responsible action in the interest of citizens are essential.
Thus, I earnestly request the Ministry of Tourism and the concerned authorities to take immediate action to prevent accidents caused by the geo bags.
