Rihla International School, which teaches approximately 100 students in three languages: English, Arabic, and Bangla, is changing education by blending academic learning with real-world experiences.
To teach the students English, the school is following the Cambridge academic rules, according to Muhammad Jahidul Islam, the founding principal and chief executive officer (CEO).
While talking to this correspondent on Saturday, the CEO said that guided by its motto, 'Learning for Life & Beyond', the school housed at Mirpur's Sagufta Housing area, blends hands-on learning, extracurricular activities, and values-based education.
The children studying in the school also engage in farming on a 5,760 sqft land, learning patience and responsibility through growing vegetables. Modular classrooms, an outdoor playground, skating, and swimming make learning dynamic and enjoyable.
Head of the School Hasan Ameen Salahuddin said that the Hifz-ul-Quran programme helps students memorise and understand the Qur'an meaningfully, while clubs for art, language, and books foster creativity and communication.
Rihla also teaches practical skills like stitching, taekwondo, and classroom care - developing independence from an early age.
"We aim to create a joyful, purposeful learning environment for the students," said Jahidul Islam.
