Eight people have been killed in Raozan upazila of Chattogram district since August 5, 2024. Behind these killings, there are terrorists involved in soil cutting, illegal occupation of canals, conflict of occupation, business conflict, extortion.
Not only that, these terrorists are also involved in various misdeeds including commission business from contractors of various engineering departments of the government.
Chattogram north district BNP convener Golam Akbar Khandaker came up with the allegation at a press conference held at BNP's Chattogram office at Kazir Dewri Nasimon Bhaban in the city on Saturday.
Chattogram north district BNP convener Golam Akbar Khandaker said several killings took place in Raozan after August 5. I think there is no political connection with this murder. I have clearly said that this is not due to any political leader's conflict. From the beginning, it can be seen that after 1985, the killing of Faruk started in Raozan. So far, more than 100 students and youths have lost their lives. Awami League terrorists were involved in these killings.
He also said that in the last few months, various weapons have been purchased in Raozan. A lot of people know this, maybe even the administration. So, they are using the shadow of politics to hide terrorist activities. Within our party, we have struggled for 17 long years. There are many cases against us. I have never hit anyone in my life. I was arrested from a street rally. I was in jail for quite some time. Not only me, many of our leaders and activists have cases against them. But for that reason, if anyone is sitting beside BNP leaders and activists after committing crimes, then we should find out. I think it should be punished appropriately.
Among others, Chattogram north district BNP senior joint convener MA Hanif, joint convener Professor Mohammad Younus Chowdhury, Kazi Salahuddin, Mohammad Nurul Amin, Mohammad Nur Mohammad, Engineer Belayet Hossain, Fatikchhari East district convener Colonel (retd) Azizullah Bahar, Raozan upazila BNP president Professor Jasim Chowdhury, general secretary Anwar Hossain, Rangunia upazila BNP president Professor Kutub Uddin Bahar, Sandwip upazila BNP convener Advocate MA Taher, Mirsarai upazila BNP convener Abdul Awal Chowdhury and Azizur Rahman Chowdhury and Jubo Dal leaders and activists were present on the occasion.
