Man killed in Moulvibazar train crash

An unidentified person was killed in a train accident in Moulvibazar's Sreemangal upazila on Saturday.

The accident took place around 1:00 PM at Railgate area in the upazila.
The identity of the deceased, aged about 50, could not be known immediately.

According to locals, a speedy Chattogram bound Paharika Express train hit him while he was crossing the railway track, leaving him critically injured on the spot.

Locals rescued the injured and took him to Sreemangal Upazila Health Complex where on-duty doctors declared him dead.

Sharmin Akter, medical officer of the health complex, said that the person died before being taken to the hospital.

The body was handed over to police, she added.
