Youth electrocuted in Rajshahi

A young man was electrocuted to death while trying to connect an electric line at a juice shop in Rajshahi.

The incident took place at Rajshahi University campus area in the city on Friday evening.
The deceased was identified as Rimon Ghosh Tufan, 24, son of Rajen Kumar, a resident of Sipaipara area in ​​the city.

Confirming the matter, Motihar Police Station Inspector (Investigation) Suman Quaderi said that Tufan was seriously injured while working on an electricity pole to provide internet connection to a house and got entangled in a lightning wire.

Later, locals rescued him from the spot and took him to Rajshahi Medical College Hospital where the attending doctors declared him dead.

An unnatural death case has been filed with the police station in this connection, the OC said, adding that the body was handed over to the deceased's family after completing legal procedures.
