The National Consensus Commission began a series of dialogues with political parties on March 20 this year, aiming to build national consensus around state reform initiatives proposed by the interim government.
So far, the Commission has held discussions with 16 political parties, including BNP and National Citizen Party (NCP).
Formed on February 15 this year under the leadership of Chief Adviser Professor Muhammad Yunus, the Commission has been tasked with developing a united national stance on major reforms.
In the initial phase, the Commission has outlined key recommendations from five reform sub-commissions, covering constitutional, public administration, electoral, judicial, and anti-corruption reforms.
A spreadsheet containing these recommendations has been sent to 39 political parties for their feedback.
So far, 34 parties have submitted their opinions.
The Commission aims to complete its first round of discussions with political parties by the first week of May.
The second round of discussions is scheduled to begin in second week of May, with the goal of reaching a national consensus by mid-July.
