BNP Senior Joint Secretary General Ruhul Kabir Rizvi on Friday asked why the Interim Government hasn't taken action against those who helped Sheikh Hasina create a fascist regime, including Justice ABM Khairul Haque, former Chief Election Commissioner Kazi Rakibuddin Ahmad, and KM Nurul Huda.
Rizvi made these comments at an event organized by "Amra BNP Poribar," where they provided financial help to the mother of Abdullah Bin Jahid, who was killed during the July uprising. Rizvi accused ABM Khairul Haque of blocking democracy, supporting a tyrant like Sheikh Hasina, and helping to create a fascist government.
He questioned why these individuals, responsible for damaging democracy and supporting Sheikh Hasina, are still free and not arrested.
Rizvi also asked why Justice Khairul Haque has not been arrested, as he is blamed for the deaths of many people, including Abu Sayed, Mir Mugdho, and Jahid, who were killed by police under Hasina's rule.
Rizvi claimed that Khairul Haque helped remove the caretaker government system for his own benefit, later becoming chairman of the Law Commission and taking money from the Prime Minister's fund.
Rizvi also questioned why former Election Commissioners Kazi Rakibuddin Ahmad and KM Nurul Huda haven't been arrested, as they helped Sheikh Hasina destroy democracy and the electoral system.
He expressed disappointment that no action has been taken against judges who wrongfully sentenced BNP Chairperson Khaleda Zia. He said it is shameful that those who supported Hasina in establishing fascism are still not held accountable.
Rizvi emphasized that the interim government should arrest those who killed democracy and ensure justice for the martyrs. He also said the people are waiting for action to withdraw false cases against millions of BNP leaders and activists.
Rizvi praised the Chief Election Commissioner, AMM Nasir Uddin, for his commitment to continue election preparations without waiting for reforms, reassuring that elections should not be delayed.
