Law enforcement agencies have arrested 1,642 more individuals across the country in the past 24 hours as part of the ongoing nationwide crackdown on crime.
According to a press release from the Police Headquarters, 1,072 of the arrestees were wanted in existing cases or had outstanding warrants. The remaining 570 were detained over various other criminal charges.
During the drive, police also seized several weapons, including a country-made pistol, a single-barrel gun, five homemade pipe guns, two one-shutter guns, a magazine, four bullets, and four cartridges.
With these latest arrests, the total number of detainees has reached 7,895 in the seven days since the renewed anti-crime operation began.
