A 3-day long folk theatre festival was underway in Thakurgaon with the aim of bringing back the lost folk drama and creating social awareness among the mass people.
The District Administration in association with the Bangladesh Shilpakala Academy and the Dhaka University Teachers "Association organised the festival.
Three different folk drama troupes including Pirganj upazila were participating in the three-day long folk drama festival.
Dramatists, actors, cultural activists and people from different walks of life were present in the court premises to enjoy the festival.
Earlieron April 23, Thakurgaon Deputy Commissioner Ishrat Farzana inaugurated the folk drama festival at the Judge Court premises .
Senior Superintendent of Police Rahul Malik, Additional District Development Commissioner Afsar Ali Khan, Additional Deputy Commissioner Zahoor Ahmad Mir, Assistant Commissioner Revenue, District Panchayat Officer, and District Information Officer besides former legislators Ghulam Rasool Naz, Nizam-ud-Din Bhat and Usman Majid, and among others, were present on the occasion.
The festival will end today.
