Mirpur warehouse fire under control

A fire broke out at a jhut (waste fabric) warehouse in Dhaka’s Mirpur-11 area early Friday morning but was brought under control within an hour.

According to Shahjahan Hossain, duty officer at Fire Service and Civil Defence headquarters, the fire started around 6:58 AM at the warehouse located on Road No. 15/2, Block-C, Avenue-5 of Mirpur-11.

Three firefighting units from the nearby Mirpur Fire Station responded promptly and were able to control the blaze by 7:50 AM.

No casualties have been reported. The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
