The Bangladesh Rural Electrification Board (BREB) has issued a stern warning to all officials and employees of the Palli Bidyut Samitis (PBS), urging them to refrain from engaging in activities that violate official discipline.

In an office order issued on Thursday (April 24), BREB expressed concern over recent incidents involving some PBS personnel. According to the notice, a number of officers and employees have been involved in collecting unauthorized funds, gathering mass signatures, and spreading false, misleading, and provocative statements through social media platforms such as Facebook—actions deemed contrary to official regulations.
The order also pointed out that certain linemen working under the PBS have been recording videos while performing electrical line maintenance work and subsequently sharing those videos on social media for publicity purposes. BREB emphasized that this practice is extremely hazardous and should be stopped immediately.

In response, BREB has strongly requested all levels of PBS staff to avoid such activities. The order warns that failure to comply will lead to administrative action against those involved.

To ensure enforcement, the responsibility for preventing these activities has been assigned to the senior general managers of the respective PBS units. The notice further states that if any general manager is found negligent in this matter, they will also be held accountable for the misconduct occurring under their supervision.
