Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami Ameer Dr. Shafiqur Rahman on Thursday said that Jamaat does not have its own agenda, but rather seeks to replicate a just and humane society like the one established by the Prophet Muhammad (PBUH), based on justice, anti-discrimination, and peace.

He made the remarks while participating in a mass campaign organised by Jamaat-e-Islami Dhaka North, as part of the party's centrally-declared campaign in the Ibrahimpur, Kafrul, and Mirpur areas of the capital.

Among others present were Ameer of Dhaka Metropolitan North Mohammad Selim Uddin, Central Vice-President of the Workers' Welfare Federation Lashkar Mohammad Taslim, Assistant Secretary of Dhaka Metropolitan North Mahfuzur Rahman, and Dr. Fakhruddin Manik, who accompanied the Jamaat Ameer during the event.

Dr. Shafiqur Rahman stated, "Almighty Allah is the owner of all power. He gives power to whomever He wants and takes it away as He wants. Allah is the Great and honours whomever He wants; and also humiliates. We witnessed this directly in the July Revolution."

He continued, "The past regime carried out unbridled oppression and torture on people in the pride of power.

Instead of confronting their political opponents politically and ideologically, they have chosen the path of murder, terrorism, anarchy, imprisonment, oppression, and assassination. They thought that such misrule and oppression would last until the Day of Judgment. But even if Allah gives the oppressors a break, He does not give them up. Basically, Allah's help has come to us."

The Jamaat Ameer added, "The well-organised platform of dictatorship has crumbled like a sandbar. Therefore, we have to unite to make this victory meaningful and sustainable."

He called upon everyone to work together for the liberation of the country and the nation.

"Jamaat is continuing a long-term movement and struggle for the liberation and welfare of the country and the nation. We are determined to establish a just and fair society in the country. We love the country and the people. The welfare and liberation of the people is the basic principle of Jamaat's politics," he said.

"Absolute power belongs to Allah. Therefore, to achieve peace in this world and salvation in the hereafter, we all have to return to the ideals of the Holy Quran and Sunnah," he said, urging all to be ready to make the highest sacrifices for the establishment of religion.
