Law enforcement agencies have detained 1,617 additional crime suspects across the country in the past 24 hours as part of an ongoing nationwide anti-crime drive.
According to a statement issued by the Police Headquarters, 1,021 of the individuals arrested had existing cases or outstanding warrants against them, while the remaining 596 were apprehended on various other criminal charges.
During the latest phase of the operation, law enforcers also seized one pistol, two bullets, and a pipe gun.
With these new arrests, the total number of individuals detained over the past six days since the intensified crackdown began has reached 6,253. The operation is part of a renewed effort to curb criminal activities across the country.
