Two broker groups clashed at Dhaka Medical College Hospital's (DMCH) emergency unit over control of private ICU patients and territorial dominance, resulting in immediate disciplinary action against a student leader.
On Thursday, April 24, Shahadat Hossain, General Secretary of Chhatra Dal at Fazlul Huq Muslim Hall, Dhaka University, has been expelled from his position following alleged involvement in the incident.
Mohammad Jahangir Alam, Office Secretary with Vice President ranking in central Chhatra Dal, confirmed the expulsion through an official press release.
Central Chhatra Dal President Rakibul Islam Rakib and General Secretary Nasir Uddin Nasir approved the decision. All members at every organisational level have been instructed to cease communication with Shahadat immediately.
"According to the decision of the Central Committee of Chhatra Dal, Shahadat Hossain, General Secretary of Fazlul Huq Muslim Hall Chhatra Dal under the Dhaka University unit, is hereby expelled from his organisational position on charges of violating organisational discipline," stated the press release.
