2 killed in Dinajpur road mishap

Two people were killed in a road accident at Joynagar Bazar under Phulbari upazila in Dinajpur on Thursday afternoon.

The accident took place around 3:30 PM on Dinajpur-Gobindaganj Highway.

The deceased were identified as Ayub Ali, 55, son of Afsar Ali, a resident of Baraipara village of the upazila and Yakin Ali, 50, son of Moiz Uddin of the same area.

According to locals, a speedy truck hit a van from behind, leaving its passenger Moiz dead and injuring van puller Ayub Ali on the spot.

Ayub Ali rushed to Dinajpur Medical College and Hospital but he succumbed to his injuries on way to the hospital.

Phulbari Police Station officer-in-charge AKM Khandaker Mohibbul confirmed the matter.
