BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir on Wednesday urged the country's people to be united for restoring the democratic rights.
"The democratic system of the country was destroyed during the ousted Awami League government's tenure. Even after ouster of the fascist government, the democratic system has not yet been restored completely. To restore the democratic rights of the country's people, we must have to be united," he said while addressing a view exchange meeting at BNP Chairperson's Gulshan Office in Dhaka.
More than 20 leaders of pro-BNP and former Chhatra Dal physicians from Rangpur Medical College led by Dr. Tozammel Haque Bokul, Prof Dr. Ziaul Haque Zia, Dr. Mahamudul Haque Sarker, and Dr. Shariful Islam Mandol met the BNP secretary general at the meeting.
In the meeting, the BNP secretary General prayed for quick recovery of ailing BNP Chairperson Khaleda Zia and long life for BNP's Acting Chairman Tarique Rahman.
Terming the Doctors Association of Bangladesh (DAB) as an important organization of BNP, Fakhrul urged the doctor's leaders to strengthen the DAB and use it for the welfare of the country's people.
