Akshay Kumar’s historical drama Kesari Chapter 2 continues to show steady progress at the box office, earning ₹4.75 crore on its fifth day, according to data from Sacnilk. The film’s total domestic gross now stands at ₹38.75 crore.
Directed by Karan Singh Tyagi and produced by Dharma Productions, Leo Media Collective, and Cape of Good Films, the film registered an overall occupancy rate of 23.25% in Hindi screenings on Tuesday, April 22. Occupancy steadily increased throughout the day, from 16.66% in morning shows to a peak of 41.89% at night.
Film trade analyst Taran Adarsh noted that Kesari Chapter 2 held up well on Monday, traditionally seen as a crucial day for box office momentum. “Evening shows at urban multiplexes showed stronger attendance,” Adarsh commented on X. He added that the film’s Good Friday release gave it a strong start, though better Monday numbers would have further bolstered its performance.
Adarsh also attributed Tuesday’s positive numbers in part to the Blockbuster Tuesdays offer, which saw ticket prices drop to ₹99 at major cinema chains, boosting footfall. He emphasized the importance of sustaining this performance through the rest of the week, NDTV reports.
Here’s the film’s day-wise collection breakdown so far:
- Friday: ₹7.84 crore
- Saturday: ₹10.08 crore
- Sunday: ₹11.70 crore
- Monday: ₹4.50 crore
- Tuesday: ₹4.75 crore
With strong weekday support and word-of-mouth publicity, Kesari Chapter 2 is now on track to cross the ₹40 crore milestone.
