Students of Dhaka University has called class boycott at all educational institutions on Wednesday (April 23)
in solidarity with students of Khulna University of Engineering and Technology (KUET).
They made the announcement at about 12:15AM on Wednesday from 'Shahbagh Blockade' programme.
Musaddiq Ali Ibn Mohammad, a students of Bangla Department of the DU, announced this, where students from BUET, KUET, CUET were present.
Demanding the resignation of KUET Vice Chancellor Prof Mohammed Masud, the DU students blockaded Shahbagh with a procession on Tuesday night which was lasted till 12:45AM. They chanted different slogans, 'Ak Dui Tin Char, Masud Tui Godi Chhar', Golami Na Ajadi, Ajadi Ajadi'.
"We will not attend any classes on Wednesday. All should boycott classes. Symbolic hunger strikes and sit-in will be observe at all campuses. Protest procession will also be held," Musaddiq Ali said.
Erlier on the day, during a phone call with the protesting KUET students, the Education Adviser CR Abrar urged the students to call off their strike, reads an education ministry press statement.
The adviser expressed concern about the protesters' health.
