30 injured in Ctg salt field clash

At least 30 people were injured in a clash that broke out between two groups of locals over occupying a salt field at Banshkhali upazila in Chattogram district.

The incident took place at Uttar Sarol Natun Bazar area of the upazila on Tuesday afternoon.

The injured are Mohammad Forkan, 30, Mohammad Mahim, 18, Azizur Rahman, 50, Nur Hossain, 37, Mohammad Delwar, 38, Shahjahan, 30, Mohammad Rubel, 31, Jamir Uddin, 50, and Abdul Karim, 45.

They are undergoing treatment at Chittagong Medical College Hospital (CMCH). The rest were reported to have received treatment locally.

Confirming the matter, Banshkhali Police Station officer-in-charge (OC) Saiful Islam said that there was a huge exchange of fire between Kabir Group and Mansur Group over grabbing government khas land. At least 25 people were injured on both sides.
