Qatar is set to recruit 725 Bangladeshi soldiers to serve in multiple roles within the country, according to Chief Adviser’s Press Secretary Shafiqul Alam.
Speaking to the media during the Earthna Summit 2025 in Doha, Alam stated that the recruitment process is expected to commence within the next two months.
A delegation from Bangladesh, headed by Chief Adviser Professor Muhammad Yunus, is currently in Doha to participate in the summit.
Highlighting the long-standing deployment of Bangladeshi soldiers in Kuwait, Alam noted that Qatar has now shown interest in a similar arrangement. He mentioned that Qatar plans to bring in 725 Bangladeshi soldiers every three years, with discussions ongoing to potentially increase that number.
"This is a positive development for both countries, and we are working to expand the scope of the agreement," Alam said.
