A man was killed in a road accident when a motor-cycle collided head on with a battery powered vehicle at Natore’s Gurudaspur upazila on Tuesday.
The incident occurred around 11:00 AM near Kachikata 10 no. Bridge at Bonpara-Hatikumrul highway in the upazila.
The deceased was identified as Masud Ahmed, 35, a resident of Nawabganj Boro Masjid area under Lalbagh Police Station in Dhaka.
According to police reports, Masud was traveling from Dhaka to his father-in-law's house in Baraigram.
Upon reaching the accident spot, his motorcycle collided head-on with a battery powered vehicle carrying cattle from the opposite direction.
The impact threw him off his motorcycle and dead on the spot.
Upon receiving news, police arrived at the scene, recovered the body and took it into custody of Highway Police.
Confirming the matter, Gurudaspur Police Station officer-in-charge (OC) Golam Sarwar Hossain said that the deceased's body handed over to his family after legal procedures.
The vehicle involved in the accident is currently under custody of Sirajganj Highway Police, the OC added.
