A chase and counter-chase again broke out between the students of Dhaka College and City College in the capital's Science Lab area on Tuesday.
Both the group hurled brick chips to eachother. Some were found holding sticks and rods on their hands.
Around 11:45AM, a group of Dhaka College students attacked City College students which escalated into a chase and counter-chase around 12:30PM.
Police later dispersed them lobbing tear gas shells and charging baton. After a brief suspension, vehicle started moving on that area.
Injured five students are admitted to Dhaka Medical College Hospital.
Additional police have been deployed in the area, said New Market Police Station OC Mohsin Uddin.
The exact cause of the clash could not be confirmed immediately.
It was learnt that, a City College students beat up a student of Dhaka College on Monday. Later, this spread to different Facebook groups of Dhaka College.
