Law enforcement agencies have arrested 1,631 more individuals and recovered 10 firearms in the last 24 hours as part of the ongoing nationwide crackdown on criminal activities, according to a press release issued by the Police Headquarters.
Of those detained, 1,013 were wanted in connection with previous cases and arrest warrants, while the remaining 618 were taken into custody over various other criminal charges.
Among the seized weapons were one foreign-made pistol, a local light gun (LG), two single-barrel guns, four pipe guns, two one-shutter guns, and six rounds of cartridges for a Chinese rifle.
Since the renewed countrywide drive began three days ago, a total of 4,746 suspected criminals have been arrested across the country. The operation is aimed at curbing rising criminal activities and restoring law and order.
