11 businesses burned down in Chandpur fire

Eleven businesses have been gutted in a fire in Chandpur's Sadar Upazila early Sunday.

The fire originated from an electrical short circuit at midnight at Baharia Bazar under Lakshmipur Model Union in Chandpur Sadar Upazila.

However, no one was injured in the incident.

Chandpur Fire Service Deputy Assistant Director Syed Muhammad Morshed Hossain confirmed the matter.

The 11 shops that burned down included a clothing store, a food and beverage store, a gold shop, a pharmacy, a microphone and battery shop, and a tailor's shop. Traders feared a loss of about Tk one crore in the fire.
