Two women sustained burn wounds after a petrol bomb was hurled towards their CNG-run autorickshaw in Chittagong city's Aturar Depot area early Sunday.
Injured Laily Begum, 50, and her daughter-in-law Jharna, 30, were first admitted to Chittagong Medical College Hospital's (CMCH) Burn Unit. Later, Laily, with 90 per cent burns, was sent to Dhaka.
According to the autorickshaw driver, three attackers came to their vehicle, riding on a motorcycle, with their faces tying up.
CMCH police outpost SI Nure Alam Asheq said two burnt women brought the hospital at an early hours.
Driver Md Jami said "The attack incident happened around 4:30AM when he was going to Pekua Malek Shah Darbar Sharif in Cox's Bazar with three women, two children and two men on his autorickshaw.
Suddenly, a petrol bomb was thrown aiming at his vehicle when it was crossing Aturar Depot area.
