Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) arrested the prime and first-listed accused in shooting and killing of a youth at Fatullah in Narayanganj Sadar upazila.
On Friday, April 18, a joint team from RAB-11 and RAB-8 conducted an operation and arrested the accused from Kashipur area under Barisal district.
The arrested is Maysar Ahmed Babu, 29, son of late Firoz Ahmed Matin from Madhyampara area of Kashipur under Fatullah.
According to a press release issued by RAB-11 on Saturday (April 19), the incident occurred in the early hours of March 31 near Lion Eye Hospital at Kashipur area on Panchabati-Muktarpur Road in Fatullah. A youth named Pavel, 30, was shot and later died at Dhaka Medical College Hospital around 3 PM while undergoing treatment.
Following the incident, victim's mother, Nuri Begum, filed a murder case with Fatullah Model Police Station.
During preliminary interrogation by RAB-11, the arrested accused Babu confessed to his involvement in Pavel's murder.
With this, two accused involved in the murder have been arrested and efforts are ongoing to apprehend the remaining suspects.
The arrested Babu has been handed over to Fatullah Police Station for further legal proceedings.
